In chemical tankers, cruide oil, liquefied gases tanker transport, inerting and sweeping operations are carried out with nitrogen gas during loading, unloading and transport of products to tankers. For tankers larger than 8000 DWT, on board nitrogen gas production system has been made compulsory.
